Service introduction

What this work involves.

Many organizations have more data than ever and still struggle to answer simple questions about how the business is performing. Reports are produced because they always have been, indicators are tracked without clear owners, and important signals arrive too late to act on.

Bizorent’s performance and reporting work starts with decisions rather than data. We ask what leaders and managers need to decide, how often, and what information would genuinely help. From there, we help define a focused set of indicators, clarify how each is calculated and who owns it, and design reporting that is easy to read and discuss.

The result is reporting that supports conversation and action: fewer numbers, better understood, reviewed at the right rhythm.

Common business challenges

Where this service tends to help.

These are situations organizations frequently describe when they first get in touch. Most businesses recognize two or three.

01

Too many metrics

Reports contain dozens of figures, but few influence actual decisions.

02

Information arrives late

By the time results are reported, it is too late to respond effectively.

03

Inconsistent definitions

Different teams calculate the same measure differently, leading to disagreements.

04

Manual reporting effort

Staff spend significant time assembling reports from multiple sources each period.

05

No clear ownership

Indicators are tracked, but nobody is responsible for acting when they move.

06

Meetings without focus

Management meetings review numbers without reaching decisions.

Scope

What the engagement may include.

Every engagement is scoped to the organization. The elements below are typical, not a fixed package.

  • Review of current reports, metrics and how they are used
  • Interviews with leaders about the decisions they need to make
  • Definition of a focused set of key indicators with clear calculations
  • Assignment of owners and review frequency for each indicator
  • Design of management report layouts and meeting structures
  • Assessment of data sources and practical steps to improve reliability
  • Guidance on introducing the new reporting rhythm with the team
Agreed in writing. Objectives, scope, timing and fees are confirmed with you before work begins, so there are no surprises about what is — and is not — included.

Our approach

How we approach performance & reporting.

01

Begin with decisions

Indicators are chosen because they inform a specific decision, not because they are available.

02

Balance the view

We combine leading and lagging measures across finance, operations, customers and people.

03

Define precisely

Every indicator gets a clear definition, source, owner and review rhythm.

04

Keep it usable

Reports should be quick to produce and quick to understand.

Who it may be suitable for

A good fit when…

  • Leadership teams that want a clearer view of business performance
  • Organizations whose reporting has grown complicated over time
  • Businesses introducing a new management meeting rhythm
  • Companies preparing reporting for owners, partners or boards
  • Teams that spend too much time compiling reports by hand

Being transparent

Possibly not the right fit when…

This service focuses on management reporting and indicators. It is not financial statement preparation, auditing or accounting advice, which should be provided by a qualified accounting professional.

Expected engagement process

What working together looks like.

Timelines vary with scope and the size of the organization. The sequence below is typical.

  1. 01Initial conversationAn initial discussion about your situation, what you would like to improve, and whether Bizorent is a good fit.
  2. 02Scope and proposalWe confirm objectives, scope, timing, involvement and fees in writing before any work begins.
  3. 03Discovery and analysisInterviews, document review and working sessions to build an accurate picture of the current situation.
  4. 04RecommendationsWe present our findings — typically a defined indicator set, report design and management review rhythm — and discuss them with your leadership team.
  5. 05Optional supportIf agreed, we help with implementation planning, communication and periodic progress reviews.

FAQ

Questions about performance & reporting.

How many KPIs should a business track?

There is no single right number, but most leadership teams work best with a small core set — often somewhere between five and fifteen — supported by more detailed measures within individual teams.

Do you build dashboards?

We design what should be reported and how it should be presented. We can describe dashboard requirements in detail for your team or a technology provider to build in the tools you already use.

What if our data is unreliable?

That is a common starting point. We identify where data quality matters most and recommend practical steps to improve it, sometimes starting with simpler measures while reliability improves.

Is this the same as financial reporting?

No. Financial statements are prepared under accounting standards by qualified professionals. Management reporting is internal information designed to help leaders run the business, and it often includes non-financial measures.

Can you help us run better management meetings?

Yes. Reporting is most useful when it is connected to a regular meeting where indicators are reviewed, discussed and translated into actions.
