Service 04
Process Improvement
Mapping existing workflows and identifying practical ways to reduce unnecessary complexity, delays and rework.

Service introduction
What this work involves.
Every business runs on processes, whether they are written down or not. Over time those processes collect extra steps, approvals and workarounds — each sensible when it was added, but together creating delays and frustration.
Bizorent’s process improvement work focuses on specific workflows that matter to the business: how an order is fulfilled, how a client is onboarded, how invoices are approved, how a project is handed from sales to delivery. We map each process as it currently runs, identify where time and effort are lost, and redesign it with the people who use it.
We favour simple, durable improvements. Removing an unnecessary approval or clarifying who owns a step can sometimes do more than a new system, and it is often faster and less disruptive to introduce.
Common business challenges
Where this service tends to help.
These are situations organizations frequently describe when they first get in touch. Most businesses recognize two or three.
Processes nobody fully understands
Each person knows their part, but no one can describe the end-to-end flow.
Waiting and queues
Work sits idle between steps, waiting for information, approval or the next person.
Duplicate data entry
The same information is typed into several places, creating effort and errors.
Too many approvals
Sign-offs added over time slow down routine decisions without reducing real risk.
Exceptions that became the rule
Special cases are handled so often that the standard process is rarely followed.
Training is difficult
New staff take a long time to learn the work because steps are undocumented.
Scope
What the engagement may include.
Every engagement is scoped to the organization. The elements below are typical, not a fixed package.
- Selection of priority processes based on business impact
- Current-state process mapping with the people involved
- Identification of delays, handoffs, duplication and rework
- Root-cause analysis of recurring problems
- Future-state process design developed with the team
- Clear documentation suitable for training and reference
- An implementation sequence and simple measures to confirm improvement
Our approach
How we approach process improvement.
Pick the right processes
We focus effort where improvement will make a visible difference.
Map it together
Mapping sessions with the team build shared understanding and surface issues quickly.
Simplify before automating
Unnecessary steps are removed before any technology change is considered.
Document for daily use
The new process is written so people can actually follow it.
Who it may be suitable for
A good fit when…
- Teams frustrated by delays, rework or inconsistent results
- Businesses preparing to introduce or replace a software system
- Organizations onboarding new staff who need clearer procedures
- Leaders who want reliable processes that do not depend on specific individuals
- Companies standardizing work across teams or locations
Being transparent
Possibly not the right fit when…
Process improvement depends on the willingness of the people involved to participate. If a team cannot set aside time for mapping and review, it is usually better to wait until they can.
Expected engagement process
What working together looks like.
Timelines vary with scope and the size of the organization. The sequence below is typical.
- 01Initial conversationAn initial discussion about your situation, what you would like to improve, and whether Bizorent is a good fit.
- 02Scope and proposalWe confirm objectives, scope, timing, involvement and fees in writing before any work begins.
- 03Discovery and analysisInterviews, document review and working sessions to build an accurate picture of the current situation.
- 04RecommendationsWe present our findings — typically current- and future-state process maps with documentation and an implementation sequence — and discuss them with your leadership team.
- 05Optional supportIf agreed, we help with implementation planning, communication and periodic progress reviews.
What is process mapping?
Process mapping is a visual way of describing a workflow step by step — who does what, in what order, and what information moves between them. It makes problems easier to see and discuss.
How many processes can be reviewed at once?
It is usually best to start with one to three priority processes. Once a team has experienced the method, it becomes easier to extend it to other areas.
Do you use a particular methodology?
We draw on established process improvement thinking but adapt it to the organization. The aim is practical results, not adherence to a particular framework or its terminology.
Will you automate our processes?
Software development is outside the scope of this service. We will identify where automation could help and describe the requirements, so that you can evaluate tools or providers with a clear brief.
How do we keep improvements from slipping?
Clear ownership, simple documentation and a small number of measures help. We also recommend a short review a few weeks after changes are introduced.
